Our annual Online Safety Calendar, which offers educators engaging ways of incorporating online safety advice into the curriculum, has been launched!
Starting from this month (September) and running until August 2022, the calendar lists a range of online safety projects, initiatives and suggestions for teaching staff.
Amongst the options are Childnet’s virtual and face to face Education Sessions for children, staff, parents and carers along with the Childnet Digital Leaders programme, which is currently embedded within hundreds of schools across the country.
The calendar also highlights campaigns including Anti-Bullying Week, LGBTQ History Month, World Book Day and Mental Health Awareness Week – and the relevant online safety resources available.
And not forgetting Safer Internet Day 2022, which takes place on February 8, and will once again see thousands of schools and other organisations celebrate and support the day.
The Online Safety Calendar is part of our Educators Pack for Online Safety Awareness.
The internet provides educators with a fantastic tool for teaching young people, communicating with others and sharing successes with the wider community. To make the most out social media, technology and the internet we have put together this pack of useful resources.
The pack also includes our updated Using Technology Safely Checklist, which outlines key points to consider when using technology in the classroom, at school and at home. In addition, our updated Social Media Guidance for Teachers and Professionals offers advice on utilising social media safely and responsibly in both your personal and professional life.
