Each video has
- simple, clear online safety advice specifically tailored for children aged 6-9 years old,
- 10-15 minutes of fun activities, games and discussion points,
- narration from an experienced member of the Childnet education team,
- optional follow-up activities to extend children’s learning.
Please note: due to the format of this resource and to encourage meaningful discussion, we would strongly advise that children watch the video lessons together with an adult.
Each video is designed to be used by families at home or can be adapted by educators and professionals working with young people. It is for an adult to deliver directly with children aged 6-9 years old.
Each video is a mini lesson hosted by one of our experienced education team members. They will talk the audience through a series of activities and discussion points, delivering key online safety messages as you go!
Each video lesson will take approximately 15 minutes for a child and adult together, but can be extended with discussion or using the independent follow-up challenges.
Nothing at all! Apart from the video itself, you will need no additional resources to deliver the lesson. You might find it useful to have some paper and pencils on hand, but can also very easily work through the lesson without them.
Each video finishes with three follow-up challenges. These are completely optional and are designed as a fun way for children to extend their learning more independently. At least one of the three challenges can be completed without any additional resources or access to technology (although paper, pencils and a bit of imagination will make them a lot more fun!)
