The Childnet Film Competition finalists’ event is where we celebrate the amazing work of the competition finalists and announce who has taken 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!

This year’s finalists’ event took place on Monday 3rd July 2017 at the BFI in London and included a private screening of all the films to the finalists and industry guests.

Keep on reading for more information about the private screening, this year’s judges and the amazing prizes!

The screening

Each year hundreds of primary and secondary schools and youth organisations across the UK submit their internet safety films to the Childnet Film Competition.

From those entries the Childnet team choose the top 3 entries in each category, these become our finalists.

These finalists are invited to attend a private screening at the BFI.

All the finalists’ films are shown on the big screen and the young people are given an opportunity to share what they learnt and enjoyed most about making their films.

The prizes

Our finalists took home a fantastic selection of prizes including a Canon DSLR camera, camera case, SD card, microphone, tripod, filmmaking guide and clapperboard!

The judges

On the morning of the finalists’ event the judges met to make the tough decisions on who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category!
