Senior Education Projects Officer
Becky originally studied theatre at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and joined Childnet in 2006, bringing with her a background in theatre in education. In addition to her performance work, she worked extensively as a drama workshop leader, working in a variety of settings.
Becky works closely with the Education Team and develops resources with a creative approach to address key e-safety issues. Some of her work includes the primary play ‘Only a Game’, which was performed at the UKCCIS summit in 2011, the sexting resource “Picture This” and the film content for Childnet’s PSHE Toolkit, which looks at issues such as cyberbullying, sexting, pornography and healthy relationships. Becky is also responsible for the Childnet Film Competition and continues to develop practical interactive activities in many aspects of Childnet’s work.
Becky is a firm believer in peer to peer education, inclusive learning and the effective use of drama as an educational tool, especially with harder to reach young people.
